About The Role
Here at the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Sonographer to become a key role within our department here in Radiology.
We require someone who has excellent organisational and Interpersonal skills, who can continuously improve themselves and help others to do so within our department. The successful candidate must be able to provide evidence of either a BSc Radiography or D.C.R. (R), Registered Diploma in Medical Ultrasound, Pg Dip, Pg Certificate or equivalent (master’s level).
You must be able to demonstrate evidence of competency in ultrasound scanning and reporting within the NHS setting. Experience of managing complex clinical situations.
We are a challenging and fast-paced service and require someone who can step into this role with confidence, professionalism and the ability to motivate themselves and others. We are a forward-thinking Teaching Trust that strives to develop staff to deliver high clinical care and have been a key player in the development and implementation of the 4 tier structure. The Ultrasound service has received BMUS accreditation for its Sonographer Preceptorship. We are a 3 site trust providing a 7 day service and as part of your role you may be required to work across all 3 sites (Wakefield, Pontefract and Dewsbury) covering Days, Evenings, Bank holidays and Weekends. We offer a regular staff shuttle service between all 3 sites for staff convenience and ease.
We provide Ultrasound service from GP facilities in the Wakefield area.
In April 24 we opened a Community Diagnostic Centre in Wakefield
