About the Role
The post holder will work at an enhanced level of practice utilising highly developed post graduate ultrasound experience, knowledge and skills in sonographic imaging and diagnostic reporting.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the day-to-day operational management of the sonography team, department, providing effective leadership.
- Be part of the ultrasound team in providing an effective and efficient ultrasound service.
- Carry out a wide range of complex clinical duties, acting on their own initiative, and using a wide range of professional, analytical and reasoning skills.
- Act as an autonomous practitioner carrying out a wide range of complex general scans. Report these examinations without routine input from any other professional discipline.
- Make decisions regarding follow-up scans to monitor conditions and also referral to the appropriate clinicians when necessary based on the findings of the ultrasound examinations.
- Communicate highly sensitive information to patients and clinicians.
- Travel across sites to cover lists and managerial support.
