Contract Type: Permanent / 40 hours a week
Hourly Rate: £12.71ph - Overtime paid at enhanced rate
Location: Hub 4 - Logix Road, R D Park Hinckley, LE10 3BQ
Shift Pattern / Hours of Work: 08:00 - 16:30 (For the first week you will be required to work our night shift starting at 23:00 to learn the operation and will then move onto the day shift)

Job Description

As a Sortation Operative you will find that no two days are the same, with state of the art sortation equipment and all the tools required to do the job, you will be required to unload, scan, sort and load our parcels, ensuring that their journey through our Hub is safe and swift.

This position plays a crucial part in ensuring DPD maintains its commitment to exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Executing the unloading, scanning, sorting, and loading of parcels with precision and care
  • Ensuring the swift and secure transit of items through our network
  • Handling large and heavy parcels weighing up to 25kg
  • Maintaining a high level of physical capability to meet the demands of the role
  • Adhering to shift patterns as part of our 365-day operational schedule
  • Upholding strict health and safety standards at all times
  • Demonstrating flexibility to work across various areas of the warehouse as required
  • Maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Exhibiting strong organisational skills to manage workload effectively
  • Performing duties efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation, crucial for maintaining high performance standards
  • High attention to detail, essential for accurate parcel handling and processing
  • Good organisational skills to effectively manage workload and meet operational targets
  • Demonstrated ability to perform efficiently under high-pressure situations and strict deadlines
  • Flexibility, willingness and capability to adapt to various roles within the warehouse environment as operational needs dictate
  • Physical capacity to lift, load, and carry items weighing up to 25kg on a regular basis
  • Some understanding of Health and Safety practices within a warehouse setting would be advantageous
  • Demonstrating the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring, and Accountability in all aspects of your work.
