Sourcing Specialist II

This role offers hybrid working with flexibility to work from home 2-3 days per week. Our office is based in Burgess Hill (Victoria Business Park). Additional benefits include 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing to 27 after 3 years of service), company funded private medical insurance, life assurance, discretionary bonus scheme, as well as learning and development opportunities in the life sciences sector.
Responsibilities
As a Sourcing Specialist II your responsibilities will include:
- Procuring biospecimens to customer specifications
- Supporting the wider operations to ensure the highest quality of order fulfilment
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders including Client Services, Sales and suppliers for timely resolution of enquiries
As an experienced Sourcing professional your role serves as an escalation point and subject matter expert for sourcing, ordering and client enquiries; responsible for the training and mentoring of other team members on relevant processes and SOPs; support with monitoring and reporting of stock levels of inventory products.

Working closely with the Senior Manager of European Distribution Operations, this role will assist in developing and implementing process improvements (e.g. in relation to 'On Time Delivery', order accuracy, and SLA attainment) and business projects in addition to carrying out day-to-day sourcing activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop an extensive understanding of the company’s substantial products and services portfolio
- Develop and maintain strong supplier and stakeholder relationships
- Collaborate with various departments and sites to ensure the full order to delivery life cycle is proactively and accurately managed
- Responsible for the procurement of products from external suppliers to get estimates and supply of materials to fulfil orders
- Proactively follow up with suppliers to answer technical, pricing and availability queries; and negotiate the best value for BioIVT with both customers and suppliers
- Responsible for ensuring all Supplier information is up to date and work with Quality Assurance to ensure all suppliers are approved
- Provide coaching, training and mentoring to other team members, as applicable and support onboarding and offboarding where applicable
- Assist the Manager in process improvement, departmental projects and reporting of performance metrics. Attend management meetings and provide data and information where applicable
- Serve as escalation point and a subject matter expert for sourcing and procurement enquiries, ensuring that complex escalations are dealt with and, where applicable, escalated to more senior team members including key accounts

What We Are Looking For
- Demonstrable experience in sourcing and/or purchasing activities (experience in biopharmaceutical or medical industries desirable)
- Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably Sage X3) and CRM systems (preferably Salesforce)
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
- Autonomous case management: scheduling, planning, prioritization, attention to details and time-management skills are essential
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally and as part of a team
- CIPs, APICs or equivalent qualifications desirable
