We’re looking for a talented and driven Event Sous Chef to join a fast-paced, high-profile catering operation in Watford. This is an exciting opportunity for a Sous chef with a strong events background who thrives on variety, creativity, and delivering exceptional food at scale.
THE ROLE
As Event Sous Chef in Watford, you’ll play a key role in leading the events kitchen, delivering a wide range of experiences—from intimate VIP dinners for 10 guests to large-scale canapé receptions for up to 1,500, BBQ events, lunch events, street food dining and more.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading the day-to-day events kitchen operation
- Planning and delivering diverse, high-quality menus across multiple event styles
- Creating innovative, on-trend dishes and menus
- Coordinating logistics and ensuring smooth delivery of all events
- Catering for production teams and internal events
- Supporting the wider on-site catering operation when required
- Bringing together kitchen teams to execute events of all sizes

This is a predominantly Monday–Friday role, with flexibility required for evening and weekend events.
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for a confident and organised senior Sous chef who has:
- A strong background in high-volume events catering
- Experience delivering varied menus and event styles
- Excellent organisational and logistical skills
- A passion for menu development and food trends
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities
- A proactive, hands-on approach in a fast-paced environment
You’ll be working alongside an experienced and passionate Executive Chef with a strong events and contract catering background, in a well-equipped kitchen with ongoing investment and development.
