Description

We’re looking for a talented, ambitious Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at The Talbot in Brockley, SE London, and its new restaurant concept - brock - in our upstairs dining room. The Talbot is a neighbourhood pub at the heart of its local community, where great food, warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere go hand in hand. We believe a brilliant pub should offer more than a great pint - it should serve food that people love, deliver consistently high standards and give guests a reason to keep coming back.

We're looking for a sous chef who shares that mindset: someone who takes pride in their cooking, enjoys working as part of a team and wants to play a key role in building a kitchen that delivers great food every day.

The Role

Working closely with our Head Chef, you’ll be an important part of the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping us deliver consistently excellent food while maintaining the standards, organisation and culture we expect. You’ll be responsible for:

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
