Sous Chef – Luxury Country Restaurant
Near Bath, Somerset
£40,000 | 40 Hours per Week + Paid Overtime
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Sous Chef to join a beautiful, highly regarded countryside restaurant near Bath, known for its exceptional food, seasonal produce, and strong farm-to-table philosophy. This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef looking to step away from the traditional long kitchen hours while still working within a high-quality, ambitious, and produce-led environment.
The Role
Working closely with the senior kitchen team, you will:
- Support the day-to-day running of a busy, high-quality kitchen
- Work with exceptional seasonal, locally sourced, and home-grown produce
- Help lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen brigade
- Maintain consistently high standards across preparation and service
- Contribute to a constantly evolving, seasonally driven menu
- Support stock management, ordering, and kitchen organisation
- Maintain excellent food safety and kitchen standards

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a Sous Chef within a high-quality restaurant, hotel, or gastro-led operation
- Has a genuine passion for seasonal, British, and produce-led cooking
- Enjoys working with fresh ingredients and cooking from scratch
- Is confident supporting and developing junior chefs
- Is organised, reliable, and calm during busy services
- Values a positive kitchen culture and a better work-life balance
