Full-Time | 45 Hours per Week | £35512.26 per annum

At Hoar Cross Hall, we're passionate about creating unforgettable guest experiences through exceptional food, luxury hospitality and outstanding service.

We're looking for an experienced Sous Chef or an ambitious Chef de Partie ready for the next step to join our talented kitchen team.


The Role

Working alongside the Executive Chef and Head Chef, you'll help lead the kitchen, inspire the team and ensure every dish is prepared to the highest standard.

You'll also take charge of the kitchen whenever the Head Chef is away.


What You'll Be Doing

Lead the Team

  • Supporting the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  • Motivating, coaching and developing the kitchen team
  • Helping plan rotas and ensure the kitchen is fully staffed
  • Leading service in the Head Chef's absence

Create Exceptional Food

  • Preparing and presenting dishes to the highest standards
  • Maintaining consistency across all services
  • Helping to develop seasonal menus
  • Controlling food costs and reducing waste

Maintain High Standards

  • Following Food Hygiene, Health & Safety and COSHH procedures
  • Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and safe
  • Completing food safety and temperature checks
  • Ensuring PPE, hygiene and uniform standards are maintained

Stock & Operations

  • Assisting with ordering and stock control
  • Checking deliveries and supplier quality
  • Supporting stock takes and weekly administration

Guest Experience

  • Working closely with the Restaurant Manager and wider management team
  • Responding professionally to guest feedback

About You

You'll ideally:

  • Have experience as a Sous Chef, or be ready to step up from Chef de Partie
  • Love working with fresh, seasonal ingredients
  • Be passionate about producing exceptional food
  • Be a confident leader and team player
  • Thrive in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Have excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Have a strong understanding of food safety and compliance

Working Hours

  • 5 days out of 7
  • Includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays
  • Typical shifts:
    • 8:00am – 5:30pm
    • 1:30pm – 11:00pm
  • Flexibility is essential to meet business needs
