About the Role
A family-run busy pub situated on the bustling and beautiful Wareham Quay in Dorset and we are looking for an experienced sous chef to join our team.
We have some of the best reviews in the area, and we’re proud of what we do. We are a food led establishment and passionate about traditional English cuisine made using fresh, locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. We have a rare opportunity to join our team and are looking for someone who shares our passion and who can help us take our pub to the next level.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the head chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Preparing and cooking high-quality traditional English dishes
- Managing and training junior kitchen staff
- Ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standard
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Ordering and managing stock levels
- Ensuring that all health and safety regulations are adhered to
- Analysing kitchen data and making recommendations for improvement
- Organising and managing kitchen logistics
- Being a team player and supporting other staff members during peak periods

Requirements
- Previous experience as a sous chef in a busy kitchen, preferably a high-volume pub
- A passion for cooking and a strong background in traditional English cuisine
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, and the desire to improve on these qualities
- The ability to work well under pressure
- A strong work ethic and a positive attitude
- A valid food hygiene certificate
- Strong analytical skills
- Competence in excel, able to compile reports reflecting provided data
- Excellent organisational and logistical skills
- A positive team player who is resilient to peaks and troughs
