Company Description

Title: Sous Chef Full Time

Join Our Kitchen Team

Novotel Glasgow is looking for a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our busy kitchen brigade.

This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who enjoys working with fresh ingredients, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering consistently high-quality food. Our kitchen supports a busy restaurant, conference and events operation, room service, and regular tour group dining, making no two days the same.

We're looking for someone who can confidently run their section, support junior team members and support the Head Chef.

What You'll Be Doing

As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our busy kitchen, taking charge in the Head Chef absence.

  • Lead, inspire and motivate the kitchen brigade during busy breakfast, lunch and dinner services.
  • Monitor food preparation, presentation and portion control.
  • Collaborate on seasonal menus, daily specials, and local fresh produce sourcing.
  • Assist with stock control, supplier ordering, food safety and HACCP compliance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
