Sous Chef – Gino D’Acampo- Leeds Marriott Hotel

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at Gino D’Acampo. This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef who is passionate about Italian food, enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen and takes pride in leading and developing a team.

This is a 40-hour-per-week role, working over 5 days.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the Head Chef in the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen
  • Lead by example, working alongside the kitchen team during preparation and service
  • Prepare and cook high-quality Italian dishes consistently to Gino D’Acampo standards
  • Ensure food quality, presentation and portion control are maintained throughout service
  • Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team, supporting training and performance
  • Ensure all food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards are consistently maintained
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, deliveries, food costs and waste management
  • Help maintain a clean, organised and professional kitchen environment
  • Communicate effectively with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service
  • Take responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
  • Continually look for ways to improve food quality, kitchen efficiency and the overall guest experience

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong senior Chef
  • A genuine passion for Italian cuisine and high-quality food
  • A confident and supportive leader who can motivate and develop a team
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and high standards of food presentation
  • Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and health & safety
  • Experience with stock control, food costs and waste management
  • Ability to remain calm, organised and focused during busy services
  • A positive attitude and a genuine passion for hospitality
  • Someone who takes pride in delivering exceptional food and an outstanding guest experience
