About Us
Wilson Vale is an established, quality-led contract caterer. We work with amazing clients across the UK who place huge value on great food as a key part of their culture and community. We work in office restaurants, independent schools, and at conference venues with the same high-end ethos throughout.
Position Overview
This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 7:00am to 3:30pm.
We're looking for a passionate and creative Sous Chef to work alongside our Chef Manager in delivering an exciting, high-quality fresh food offer to around 200 customers every day. With free meals driving a busy service, you'll play a key role in producing everything from vibrant Ottolenghi-style salad bars and street food-inspired hot dishes to deli selections, hospitality buffets, and occasional fine dining. Innovation is at the heart of this role, so we're looking for someone who loves fresh ingredients, embraces new food trends, and enjoys bringing fresh ideas to the menu every day.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
