Sous Chef

We’re looking for a Sous Chef for the Old Bicycle shop in Cambridge!

Join one of Cambridge's most unique restaurants

Are you an experienced Sous Chef or an ambitious Senior Chef de Partie ready for your next challenge?

The Old Bicycle Shop is one of Cambridge's best-loved restaurants, serving fresh, seasonal food from brunch through to dinner, alongside an extensive cocktail and drinks menu. Originally the UK's first bicycle shop, we've transformed the building into a vibrant dining destination where great food, exceptional hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere come together.

As part of the Young's family, you'll join a business that invests in its people, promotes from within and offers genuine opportunities to build a long-term career in hospitality.

About the role

As Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the Head Chef to deliver consistently high-quality food while helping to lead and inspire the kitchen team. You'll play a key role in maintaining excellent food standards, supporting service, developing new menu ideas and ensuring the kitchen operates safely and efficiently.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef who enjoys working with fresh ingredients, leading by example and being part of a busy, professional kitchen.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
