The Venue

Olympia Events manages the iconic event venues at Olympia, a cultural and architectural landmark that has hosted extraordinary events since 1886. From internationally renowned consumer exhibitions and trade shows to sporting events, concerts and conferences, Olympia continues to bring world-class experiences to London. Its distinctive architecture and nearly 140-year heritage make it one of the UK's most recognisable and sought-after event destinations.

Today, Olympia is entering an exciting new chapter. At the heart of a £1.3 billion transformation, the estate has been reimagined as London's newest fully integrated entertainment, culture and business destination. Designed by Heatherwick Studio and SPARCC for Yoo Capital and Deutsche Finance International, the redevelopment combines Olympia's historic event spaces with an exceptional new destination for visitors, businesses and event organisers.

The Role

The Sous Chef supports the Senior Sous Chef and Head Chef in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, helping to deliver exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation across restaurant, event, and performance-led services. Working within The Addison's unique hospitality environment, the role requires the ability to deliver outstanding dining experiences while supporting service that operates alongside live entertainment, performances, and special events.

The Sous Chef will assist with food preparation, service delivery, stock management, and maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, ensuring the kitchen can respond seamlessly to varying service demands and show schedules. The role requires a proactive, adaptable, and reliable leader who can contribute to smooth operations, uphold the highest culinary standards, and help create memorable experiences for guests, members, and artists.

The Responsibilities

  • Support and lead daily kitchen operations, working closely with the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef to ensure smooth, efficient delivery across restaurant, event and show-night services.
  • Oversee food production and service excellence, ensuring all dishes are prepared to agreed recipes, quality standards and presentation specifications, even within demanding event schedules.
  • Coordinate and develop the culinary team, supervising kitchen staff, managing workflows and schedules, and providing coaching and mentoring to build a high-performing team.
  • Drive operational efficiency and commercial performance, supporting menu development, costing, portion control, inventory management, labour planning and food cost control to maximise profitability.
  • Champion compliance, adaptability and guest satisfaction, maintaining the highest food safety and hygiene standards while responding effectively to changing event requirements and customer needs.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
