Banqueting Sous Chef

A GBP 40,000 + Live-in Available
The Opportunity
A prestigious 5-star luxury hotel and resort in the Midlands is looking for a talented Banqueting Sous Chef to join its culinary team.
This is a great opportunity for a Sous Chef with strong banqueting experience to work within a luxury environment, delivering weddings, conferences, private events, and large-scale functions to a high standard.
You'll work closely with the Executive Chef and senior culinary team, helping to lead the banqueting operation and develop a talented kitchen brigade.
The Role
- Support the senior culinary team across all banqueting operations
- Lead and motivate the kitchen brigade during busy services
- Deliver consistently high-quality food across weddings, events, and functions
- Assist with menu development and event planning
- Maintain excellent food quality, presentation, and portion control
- Manage ordering, stock control, and minimize food waste
- Train and develop junior members of the kitchen team
- Maintain the highest food safety and hygiene standards
- Take responsibility for the kitchen in the absence of senior chefs

About You
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef
- Experience within a luxury hotel, resort, or high-end banqueting operation
- Strong experience managing high-volume services
- A genuine passion for quality food and presentation
- Confident leading and developing a kitchen team
- Calm and organized under pressure
- Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen standards
- Flexible approach to working across a busy hotel operation
