Location: London, Bethnal Green, E2 Hours: 7:00am – 3:00pm Working Pattern: Primarily Monday–Friday, with some weekend availability required Salary: Very Competitive

About Platter Up

Platter Up is a fast growing premium catering company specialising in corporate catering, workplace lunches, events and bespoke food experiences across London. We work with a wide range of businesses, from smaller offices and regular corporate clients to large-scale events and conferences. Our food includes premium platters, grazing tables, brunch and lunch tables, canapés, hot food and bespoke catering. We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our growing kitchen team and play an important role in the day-to-day operation of our kitchen.

The Role

This is a hands-on role for a chef who takes pride in producing high-quality food consistently and efficiently. You will be involved in the preparation and production of a wide range of food for corporate deliveries and events, working closely with our kitchen and operations teams to ensure everything leaves the kitchen to a high standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and cooking food for corporate catering orders and events
  • Producing food to a consistently high standard, with excellent presentation and attention to detail
  • Preparing a wide range of dishes, including salads, hot food, brunch, lunch, platters and event catering
  • Following recipes, portion sizes and food production specifications
  • Ensuring all food is prepared and stored safely and in accordance with food hygiene regulations
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the kitchen
  • Helping with stock rotation, deliveries and general kitchen organisation
  • Working efficiently to meet daily production and delivery deadlines
  • Supporting the wider kitchen team during busy periods
  • Helping with event preparation and larger catering orders when required
  • Ensuring dietary and allergen requirements are followed carefully

About You

We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking and passionate about food, with previous professional chef experience. Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience working as a Sous Chef in a professional kitchen - essential
  • Catering experience, particularly corporate or event catering, is highly desirable but not essential
  • Good knowledge of food preparation, cooking and food hygiene
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
  • The ability to work quickly and efficiently in a busy kitchen
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines
  • A positive, team-focused attitude
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends when required
  • A full UK driving licence is highly desirable, although not essential
