Description

Location: Located just 15 miles from Oxford, Old Swan & Minster Mill is in the picturesque village of Minster Lovell. The establishment consists of both a quintessentially country English Inn, and a modern riverside hotel.

Service Charge: We pay our team a service charge each month! This service charge is shared amongst all the team at the hotel, with every penny received being paid out to the team. Service charge can be in the region of £150 a month (close to £2000 per year) over and above base pay for a full-time employee.

Environment: The Old Swan & Minster Mill offers a relaxed, fun yet professional environment to work in. Free parking is available on site, and we do offer discounted staff taxis for those that don't drive!

Role Overview:

As a Sous Chef, you will be working alongside the Head Chef to run a busy kitchen. You will be creating exciting and delicious dishes to be served to guests. This role would suit someone who has worked in a similar environment previously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Put your knife skills to the test, cooking with the finest ingredients.
  • Keep up to date with the latest allergen training.
  • Ensure the kitchen remains clean and food is properly labelled.
  • Share your knowledge with new, budding Junior Sous, CDP’s, KP’s and Commis coming into the industry.
  • Manage the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • Write the allergen matrix with the Head Chef to ensure guest safety.
  • Keep on top of ordering via Procure Wizard.
