Sous Chef

We are seeking a Sous Chef to join our kitchen team and help shape a dining experience that is thoughtful, generous, and deeply connected to place.

Heckfield Place is a beautifully restored hotel on a 400-acre farm in the county of Hampshire, just outside of London. We offer a rare opportunity to cook in close conversation with the landscape. Here, the seasons guide our decisions, provenance matters, and every dish tells a story of care, patience, and respect.

This is a role for a chef who believes that exceptional cooking is rooted in restraint rather than excess; someone who understands that the finest ingredients require care, attention, and a light touch. Working closely with the Executive and Head Chefs, you will help lead the kitchen, support the development of the team, and contribute to menus that celebrate the harvest as it unfolds throughout the year. If you are a chef who values meaningful cooking, thoughtful hospitality, and the pursuit of excellence through simplicity, we would love to hear from you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
