We are currently recruiting for a Sous Chef
We are currently recruiting for a Sous Chef to join Harrods’ passionate and high-performing Dining team within an exciting new outlet opening in our iconic Knightsbridge store. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key leadership role in a fast-paced kitchen environment, supporting the launch of a new concept within a globally recognised luxury brand. You will help deliver exceptional dining experiences defined by craftsmanship, consistency and quality.
About The Role
As Sous Chef within one of Harrods’ restaurant concepts, you will work closely with the Head Chef in an environment where elevated informal dining meets precision, pace and uncompromising standards. You’ll combine strong culinary expertise with hands-on leadership to support the consistent delivery of Harrods’ luxury food offering.
Working in a fast-paced, high-volume operation, you will help lead the brigade through busy service periods, taking ownership on the pass when required and ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations. You’ll contribute to effective planning, organisation and execution, supporting both service excellence and commercial performance.
A true champion of standards, you will help uphold excellence across food quality, HACCP, due diligence and compliance, while supporting the development of a motivated and engaged kitchen team. Through clear communication, coaching and attention to detail, you’ll play an important role in fostering a culture of professionalism and pride.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
