Are you passionate about food, drink, and service, want to be part of an award-winning hospitality team, and still make it home for dinner? We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our team.
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Working pattern: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7am - 3.30pm
Location: London, EC2M 3AB
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day operation of a busy workplace restaurant serving approximately 250 employees daily.
- Take ownership of the kitchen when the Head Chef is working at the neighbouring site.
- Deliver a high-quality breakfast and lunch service, ensuring excellent presentation and consistency.
- Support hospitality and event catering requirements across the site.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen team, ensuring high standards of performance and service.
- Manage stock control, ordering, food costs, and waste in line with budget targets.
- Maintain all food safety, health & safety, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure exceptional standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer experience at all times.
- Identify opportunities to improve kitchen efficiency, standards, and service delivery.
- Act as a role model within the team, creating a positive and professional kitchen culture.
- Work flexibly to support the needs of the business, including occasional overtime when required.

Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef within workplace dining, contract catering, hospitality, or a high-volume catering environment.
- Confident leading a kitchen operation and working autonomously when required.
- Experience producing fresh, high-quality breakfast and lunch offers.
- Strong knowledge of stock management, ordering, food safety, and kitchen compliance.
- Previous experience supervising and developing kitchen teams.
- Passionate about delivering outstanding food and customer service.
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible and willing to go the extra mile to support the operation.
- Ambitious and eager to progress into a Head Chef position within the next 12 months.
- Energetic, hands-on, and enthusiastic with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to build relationships across the site.
