About The Role

Are you an experienced chef ready to take the next step in your career?
We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our busy Campus Services catering team. This is a great opportunity to use your culinary skills and experience to help deliver high-quality food, excellent service and a great customer experience across our University catering operation.
Working Alongside The Head Chef You Will
- Take responsibility for the kitchen in the head chef's absence.
- Lead, support and develop a team of chefs and catering colleagues.
- Produce quality food in a busy, high-volume environment, including functions and events.
- Support menu development, promotions and new food initiatives.
- Manage stock, food costs, rotas and food safety standards.
- Help drive excellent customer service and continuous improvement.

About You
You will be an experienced chef with strong kitchen management and leadership skills, ideally with experience in a high-volume catering environment.
You will have a relevant Level 3 qualification (or equivalent), good knowledge of Food Safety/HACCP, and the ability to lead a team, work under pressure and deliver consistently high standards.
Experience of menu development, costing, stock management and staff training would be an advantage.
This is a permanent, full-time role of 36.5 hours per week, working 5 days over 7, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.

Campus Services New Starter bonus*. In addition to the great benefits Campus Services’ offers, we can offer you a £1,000 bonus. This is payable the month after successfully passing your six months’ probation. Please note this bonus is pro rata for part time positions.
