Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Sous Chef/Junior Sous Chef role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. The role involves supporting the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including preparing seafood-focused dishes, managing mise en place, and ensuring consistent quality and presentation in line with Lilibet’s culinary standards. The Sous Chef/Junior Sous Chef will supervise and motivate kitchen team members, assist with training, oversee food safety and hygiene practices, and help coordinate service during busy periods. Responsibilities also include contributing to menu development, monitoring stock and ordering, minimizing waste, and working closely with front-of-house colleagues to deliver a seamless guest experience.

  • Strong experience in professional kitchens, ideally within premium or fine dining seafood restaurants.
  • Sound knowledge of classical cooking techniques, Mediterranean cuisine, and seafood preparation.
  • Ability to manage sections independently, support menu execution, and maintain high culinary standards during service.
  • Proficiency in kitchen organization, including stock control, prep planning, and efficient workflow management.
  • Commitment to food safety, hygiene regulations, and maintaining a clean, orderly kitchen environment.
  • Collaborative leadership skills, with the ability to coach and support junior team members and foster a respectful, inclusive culture.
  • Resilience under pressure, strong time management, and attention to detail for consistent dish quality and presentation.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in a busy restaurant setting.
  • Relevant culinary training or qualification (e.g., diploma or certificate from a recognized culinary school) is beneficial.
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom and fluency in English for clear communication with team members and colleagues.
