What We're Looking For
We are seeking an experienced, home-based SP205 Lead Assessor to join our growing Fire Safety team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly competent fire safety professional looking to play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving technical standards across our national consultancy. The successful candidate will undertake technical reviews of Fire Risk Assessments, support consultant development, carry out competency assessments, and contribute to the continual improvement of our SP205 accredited management systems.

Your week will primarily consist of home-based technical review and quality assurance activities, supported by occasional site visits, competency assessments, consultancy projects, and collaboration with our wider Fire Safety Team.
Travel to various sites across the UK may occasionally be required, therefore a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required.

Your Skills and Experience
You will have:
- Extensive experience undertaking commercial and residential Fire Risk Assessments.
- Experience working within a BAFE SP205 certificated environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of fire safety legislation, guidance, and standards including PAS 79, BS 9999, BS 9991, and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.
- Experience reviewing, quality assuring, validating, or technically auditing Fire Risk Assessments.
- Proven technical ability and sound professional judgement.
- Excellent report writing, IT, communication, and coaching skills.
- Experience supporting, mentoring, or developing Fire Risk Assessors.
- A high-level qualification in Fire Risk Assessment, Fire Engineering, Fire Safety, or a related discipline.

Desirable Professional Memberships / Skills
- Chartered or Incorporated membership of a recognised professional body such as the IFE, IFSM, or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an SP205 Validator, Lead Assessor, Technical Reviewer, or Internal Auditor.
- Knowledge of Higher-Risk Buildings and the Building Safety Act 2022.
- Understanding of passive fire protection, compartmentation, fire doors, and external wall systems.
- Experience undertaking consultant competency assessments and technical sign-off activities.
