Join Anglian Water's Strategic Pipeline Alliance as a Civil Engineer.

Location: Flexible/Hybrid work from Peterborough office and home
Employment Type: Full-time

Are you detail-oriented, organised, and passionate about contributing to one of the UK’s most ambitious water infrastructure projects? The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) is searching for a Civil Engineer to support and enhance our project delivery team.

What will you be doing as our new Civil Engineer?

Working as a talented Civil Engineer within a multi-disciplinary project team, you’ll provide the civil engineering technical capability and design expertise to develop and deliver engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide designs which are innovative and deliver value for money whilst acting as a proactive Engineer by applying engineering principles.
  • Produce calculations and specifications standard for water or pipeline projects, liaising directly with CAD Engineers to enable production of construction drawings in CAD, BIM, and GIS environment.
  • Working within a multi-discipline design team produce design outputs which are on time, within budget and meet the required standards
  • Take ownership to deliver design and associated activities in your section of the SPA programme of works.
  • Drive excellence in Health and Safety in design by eliminating hazards and reducing risks during design whilst complying with Alliance CDM procedures.

A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours….

  • You will be degree qualified in a Civil Engineering subject, and have solid experience within the engineering industry, with design & build experience within the water industry.
  • Preferably experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams with a track record in the design of water-sector assets and delivering capital projects.
  • Comfortable using MS office suite and relevant engineering design software packages, and confident in the utilisation of British Standards and Eurocodes
  • Ability to interpret ground investigation reports to enable you to design the correct solution.
  • You’ll be accustomed to communicating with a range of people as you collaborate to meet, and exceed, stakeholder expectations. Your strong reporting writing skills and data analysis capabilities will allow you to understand our challenges and enthusiastically suggest enhanced ways of working.
