Overview
Satāya is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a luxury private members’ club in London for an experienced Spa General Manager to lead its wellness operation. This is a senior operational leadership position within a high-touch hospitality environment, bringing together wellness, exceptional service and a deeply personalised member experience.
The Spa General Manager will take ownership of the day-to-day wellness operation, team leadership, service standards and commercial performance. This requires someone who understands that exceptional spa management extends well beyond treatments. Guest flow, operational precision, team culture, safety, atmosphere and the smallest service details all contribute to the experience.
The successful candidate will be a visible, hands-on leader who can combine the standards of luxury hospitality with strong commercial and operational discipline.
Scope of Role
1) Spa & Wellness Operations
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the spa and wellness facilities, ensuring consistently exceptional standards across all areas.
- Establish and maintain robust SOPs, service standards and operational procedures.
- Oversee treatment scheduling, capacity, member flow and daily operational readiness.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure the wellness experience integrates seamlessly with the wider club operation.
- Maintain exacting standards across presentation, cleanliness, maintenance, health and safety and regulatory compliance.

2) Member & Guest Experience
- Take ownership of the end-to-end wellness journey, ensuring every interaction feels considered, intuitive and highly personalised.
- Build strong relationships with members and regular guests, developing an understanding of individual preferences and expectations.
- Create a service culture that balances polish and discretion with genuine warmth.
- Maintain a visible leadership presence and ensure consistently high standards throughout the member experience.
- Take ownership of feedback and service recovery, resolving concerns with discretion, confidence and sound judgement.
3) Commercial & Operational Performance
- Take ownership of departmental budgets, labour planning, cost control and overall commercial performance.
- Optimise treatment utilisation, capacity and revenue while protecting the quality of the member experience.
- Monitor key performance indicators including utilisation, average spend, revenue, retail performance, labour and member satisfaction.
- Work closely with senior leadership to develop initiatives that strengthen engagement, repeat usage and commercial performance.
- Use operational data and member insight to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Significant leadership experience within a luxury spa, five-star hotel, private members’ club, destination wellness or comparable premium hospitality environment.
- Previous experience as a Spa Director, Spa General Manager, Director of Wellness or in a comparable senior operational role.
- Strong understanding of spa and wellness operations, including treatments, scheduling, capacity management, service standards and guest flow.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams within a high-touch hospitality environment.
- Strong commercial capability with experience managing budgets, labour, utilisation and departmental revenue.
- Excellent understanding of spa health, safety, hygiene and operational compliance.
- Experience within a membership-led or highly personalised repeat-guest environment would be advantageous.
- Highly visible and hands-on, with the ability to balance operational detail with strategic leadership.
- Calm, polished and emotionally intelligent, with excellent judgement and discretion.
- Genuine passion for luxury hospitality, wellness and exceptional service.
