Graduate Quantity Surveyor
Location: Worldwide House, Peterborough (Hybrid)
Business Area: Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA)
Start Date: September 2027
Salary: dependent on experience and skills

The Strategic Pipeline Alliance Project is at the exciting delivery stage, with additional projects lined up to undertake during AMP8. At SPA, we embrace innovation, digital technology, and collaboration with our partners, including Farrans, MMB, Costain, and Jacobs.
About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Graduate to provide commercial support to both the delivery management and on-site teams on our major potable water transfer project. This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively in a high-demand sector, developing this project that will protect the environment and support communities across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the team to ensure robust estimates are provided that align to scope and make allowance for risks and opportunities including any necessary analysis, transfer of data to the procurement system, and Cost Base
- Work closely with the Lead Quantity Surveyor, Procurement team, Construction Manager, and Project Manager to develop and monitor procurement strategy
- Work closely with the site team, attending site regularly to ensure they are aware of and can manage the allowances and outputs, provide robust challenge to achieve outperformance, communicate change control, and escalate when necessary
- Assist the Quantity Surveyor to produce accurate live forecasting, taking into account the programme and reporting in accordance with the respective work breakdown structure/cost breakdown structure
- Ensure actual costs are monitored and assessed against baseline, value of work done, solution cost progress, affordability challenges, and final outturn calculations
- Ensure that proper records are kept and maintained so financial information for audits and cost assurance is readily available

What We’re Looking For
- A 2:2 degree or above in a related subject; engineering, management, cost discipline
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- A proactive, detail-driven approach and a willingness to learn
- Full UK driving licence (or working towards it)
