An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and organised Assistant Psychologist or Nursing Associate (Band 4) to join our passionate, committed, and expanding team at The Family Psychology Ltd service in Kidderminster, contributing to a developing Single Point of Access (SPA) for neurodevelopmental assessment.

This role will support the receipt, processing, screening, and triage of referrals, helping to ensure that children and young people are directed to the most appropriate assessment pathway in a timely and clinically informed way. You will play a key role in prioritising referrals according to clinical relevance, service criteria, and presenting need, while working closely with the clinical and administrative teams to support the smooth and efficient flow of referrals through the service.

The post is ideally suited to someone who is organised, thoughtful, and able to work within clear procedures while developing sound clinical judgement under supervision. It offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a supportive multidisciplinary neurodevelopmental service.

Key Responsibilities

Single Point of Access and Referral Management

  • Receive, screen, and process incoming referrals from a range of sources.
  • Check referrals for completeness and identify any missing or unclear information.
  • Support the triage of referrals by reviewing clinical information and contributing to decisions about urgency, suitability, and appropriate assessment pathway.
  • Prioritise referrals in order of clinical relevance, escalating complex, urgent, or high-risk cases to senior clinicians as appropriate.
  • Allocate referrals to the correct pathway in line with service protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records on clinical systems and ensure referral information is updated promptly.
  • Work closely with the clinical and administrative teams to support effective and timely referral progression.

Additional Clinical Support (where needed)

  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of neurodevelopmental assessments.
  • Support the administration, scoring, and collation of standardised measures under supervision, including questionnaires and rating scales.
  • Help gather and organise developmental history, background information, and collateral reports from families, schools, and other professionals.
  • Support clinicians in preparing assessment materials and documentation.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports and feedback summaries under supervision.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
