Space and Assortment Consultant

The Supply Chain Company (SCC) | Partner of RELEX Solutions

Location: Leeds, UK (Hybrid working)

You know what a good planogram looks like. Now help retailers produce thousands of them automatically, built on their own sales, stock and store data. SCC is growing its RELEX merchandising practice, and we're hiring a Space and Assortment Consultant to help retailers decide what goes on the shelf, where it goes and why.

About SCC

The Supply Chain Company is a supply chain consultancy and RELEX Solutions partner. We work with retail, consumer goods and manufacturing businesses to improve planning, availability and day-to-day performance.

Your role

You'll implement RELEX Space and Assortment planning for our clients, from the first workshop through go-live and beyond. You'll own your workstream, work directly with space, category and store teams, and turn their ranging and layout decisions into rules RELEX applies across every store. Because RELEX links space to forecasting and replenishment, you'll also see how a shelf decision shows up in availability and stock. Many of our clients use RELEX across their wider planning, so you'll have the chance to build expertise in other parts of the platform as your career develops.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Key responsibilities

  • Help clients get planograms out to stores and check they are set up as planned
  • Train planners and category managers, and support them after launch so the new process sticks
  • Find where space and range changes can lift sales, reduce stock or cut waste, and back it up with numbers
  • Help grow SCC's merchandising practice, from supporting pre-sales demos to improving how we deliver

What you'll bring to the table

  • 3+ years of hands-on space planning experience, at a retailer, supplier, or software or consulting firm
  • Day-to-day use of at least one space planning tool, such as RELEX, Blue Yonder (JDA) Space Planning, Nielsen Spaceman or Apollo

  • Confidence with data
  • The confidence to run a workshop with category managers and communicate with senior stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel to client sites in the UK and occasionally in Europe
