Nature is declining across Hampshire, but local communities can play a powerful role in helping wildlife recover and thrive.
As our new Space for Nature Communities Officer, you’ll support 20+ Greening Communities across Hampshire to take practical action for nature through the Greening Campaign’s tried-and-tested Space for Nature programme.
You’ll help communities understand, map and improve the habitats they already have, and support them to create new spaces for nature. You’ll also support communities to bring households on board, creating networks of wildlife-friendly gardens that provide food and shelter for wildlife across the whole community.
Working alongside our Greening Campaign community groups, you’ll help them identify opportunities, overcome barriers, organise activities and turn ideas into action. You’ll bring your own nature expertise where it’s useful, while supporting each community to develop and deliver a plan that works for their local area. Just as importantly, you’ll help them recognise and celebrate what they achieve.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
