Role Description

The Spanish or French Teacher (Face to Face) will deliver engaging Spanish language lessons to individuals and groups, following Yorkshire College’s academic standards and teaching methodologies. This part-time, on-site role in Leeds involves planning and delivering lessons, preparing teaching materials, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback to support language development.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging Spanish language lessons to individuals and groups
  • Follow Yorkshire College’s academic standards and teaching methodologies
  • Plan and deliver lessons
  • Prepare teaching materials
  • Assess student progress
  • Provide constructive feedback
  • Adapt content to different proficiency levels
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Contribute to curriculum discussions where relevant
  • Tutor students who need extra support
  • Participate in staff meetings when required
  • Help integrate French or Spanish language learning within the broader international educational setting

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Spanish or French Teaching and Teaching, with the ability to deliver clear, communicative, and learner-centered lessons
  • Skills in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development to design structured, goal-oriented lessons and contribute to course content as needed
  • Skills in Tutoring to provide individualized support, address specific learning needs, and help students achieve their language objectives
  • Relevant teaching qualification or certification in Spanish language education (e.g., degree in Spanish, language teaching diploma, or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching French or Spanish to diverse, international learners and familiarity with different proficiency levels (beginner to advanced) is preferred
  • Strong classroom management, intercultural communication skills, and the ability to create an inclusive, respectful learning environment
  • Ability to work on site in Leeds, with reliability, professionalism, and adherence to the college’s academic and safeguarding policies
