About the Role
Our Supervisors are a key part of managing our stores and leading our teams. We’re looking for people who can create an environment where colleagues are supported, motivated, and able to perform at their best.
As a Supervisor in a SPAR store with Post Office services, you’ll play an important role in ensuring both the retail store and Post Office operate smoothly. You’ll lead by example, deliver excellent customer service, and support colleagues in providing a friendly, efficient, and secure service across both areas.
Here’s What You Can Expect to be Doing
As a Supervisor, you’ll be involved in a wide range of responsibilities that keep the store and Post Office running efficiently and the team performing at their best, including:
- Leading and motivating your team to deliver outstanding customer service across both retail and Post Office counters.
- Taking responsibility for the store and Post Office in the absence of the Store Manager and/or Assistant Manager.
- Leading by example to ensure all store and Post Office standards, including customer service, health & safety, food hygiene, and security, are maintained.
- Supporting the day-to-day operation of Post Office services, including postage, parcels, bill payments, banking services, and other available products.
- Operating tills, handling cash securely, and ensuring transactions are processed and reconciled accurately.
- Providing advice and guidance to customers on Post Office products and services.
- Updating and maintaining store audits, Post Office procedures, and administrative records.
- Supporting stock management, shelf replenishment, and waste control.
- Ensuring store and Post Office security procedures are followed at all times.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

A Few Things About You
Being a Supervisor requires you to balance several responsibilities at once. We need someone who can support the Store Manager, inspire the team, and ensure daily retail and Post Office operations run smoothly. Our ideal person would also:
- Be enthusiastic, committed, and self-motivated.
- Have experience delegating tasks and motivating a team.
- Be customer-focused, remaining helpful and friendly in all situations.
- Have excellent attention to detail and numeracy skills.
- Be responsible and trustworthy, particularly when handling cash and regulated Post Office services.
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working hours and a busy retail environment.
- Be a good communicator and a team player, happy to support colleagues.
- Previous experience in customer service, retail and or Post Office
Employment in this role is subject to successfully obtaining a P250 Post Office security clearance.
