About us
How did Web Summit become, in the words of Forbes, “the best tech conference on the planet”? Meaningful connections. Our tech events are unmissable because we make it easier for the right people to meet and connect. Everyone at Web Summit works towards this goal.
And we’re just getting started.
We’re always looking to build on the impact we have already made at Web Summit. In the coming years we’ll take Web Summit to new markets, promoting global connectivity, highlighting important issues and connecting global leaders – all while making a positive impact on the environment and communities we encounter.
To build a better company, we have to better ourselves. We do that by finding the most ambitious people to work with us.
About the team
The role of Web Summit’s Speakers Team is simple: we attract the speakers that make Web Summit so successful.
Now, that will be your job.
In recent years, Web Summit has been the first - sometimes only - tech event to call out the growing global impact of Chinese technology across every sector: AI, robotics, energy, transport, research, health, and infrastructure to name just a few.
We are looking for native Mandarin speakers to ensure the world gets to hear from and engage with China’s tech leaders, creators and thinkers at our events.
What you'll do
Behind every speaker confirmed for Web Summit is a mountain of research, flawless logistics, and relentless follow-up.
- Target Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive research on potential speakers, their recent announcements, and their business needs to help craft the perfect pitch.
- Outreach: Outreach with compelling & high-level pitch. You’ll also be responsible for keeping the momentum alive in long-running discussions.
- Editorial: Pitch in on session concepts, titles, and narrative angles.
- Administrative Excellence: Manage speaker data, track confirmation statuses, and coordinate the complex scheduling requirements of high-profile offices.
- Briefing & Preparation: Ensuring that when pitching or meeting with a VIP, we know everything about them - and the best ways to ensure their goals are met by attending Web Summit.
- Travel: Trips within China required, in addition to standard event travel.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
