Join Our Outstanding Team!
Uckfield College is a highly successful and popular 11-18 school in the heart of rural Sussex yet within commuting distance of Brighton, Eastbourne, and the South Coast. Our college is an excellent working environment characterised by happy, well-motivated students and innovative and enthusiastic teachers.
Following our inspection in April 2024, Uckfield College was awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating by Ofsted, both as the overall judgement, and in each of the different categories that are evaluated. The Learning Plus department is housed in our incredible purpose-built accommodation, designed to develop a supportive and aspirational learning environment for our students.
We are looking to appoint an ambitious and skilled SENDCO to lead our Learning Plus department supporting our Leader of Inclusion and Strategic SENDCO, Victoria Hopkinson. The successful candidate will be someone with the drive and passion to further develop our SEND strategy and will ensure high quality provision for students with additional special educational needs, through clear and positive leadership, excellent organisation, and highly effective communication. This is a unique opportunity to drive SEND strategy, implement creative interventions, and benefit from amazing professional development that supports career growth.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
