Job Title: SENCo
Location: Miller House School, Stoneygate, Leicester LE2 2NB
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Salary: Up to £42,500 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

What you'll be doing
As our SENCo, you'll provide oversight of SEND across the school, ensuring every pupil has access to an outstanding education that meets their individual needs.
- Lead and develop an ambitious, inclusive SEND strategy across the whole school
- Drive high-quality SEND provision, ensuring interventions have measurable impact
- Oversee EHCPs, Annual Reviews, provision mapping and statutory processes
- Monitor pupil progress, analyse data and use evidence to continuously improve outcomes
- Work closely with Senior Leaders, teachers, therapists and pastoral teams to create personalised learning pathways
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers, Local Authorities and external professionals
- Coach and develop staff, promoting outstanding inclusive teaching across the school
- Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice while helping shape the school's wider strategic direction

About you
You'll be a passionate advocate for inclusion with the vision, resilience and leadership skills to inspire others.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS desired
- National Award for SEN Coordination (or be willing to complete it within three years)
- Thrive Practitioner qualification (or willingness to undertake training)
- Teaching or HLTA experience within an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation
- Experience leading SEND provision or contributing to whole-school improvement
- A proactive, organised and solution-focused approach
- UK Driving Licence required
About Us
Miller House School is a brand-new school located in Stoneygate, Leicester. The school opened in September 2025, has a capacity of 80 pupils, and offers a co-educational provision for students with complex needs, including SEMH.
Miller House School is a specialist SEMH setting for young people aged 11–16. We are committed to supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, as well as autism and ADHD. Our safe and nurturing environment ensures every child is heard, seen, and supported to thrive.
