SEN Teacher - Autism & Severe Learning Difficulties
A special needs school in Hackney is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to support pupils with Autism (Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position within a highly regarded Local Authority establishment.
School Overview
The school is an Ofsted Outstanding special school catering to pupils aged 2-11. It is located in a modern, purpose-built facility designed to meet complex learning needs.
- Class Size: 7 primary-aged pupils.
- Support: 3 full-time Teaching Assistants assigned to the classroom.
- Professional Development: Access to excellent induction programs and ongoing CPD training.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement personalised learning plans to promote student independence and social skills.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists.
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to ensure an inclusive environment.
- Maintain regular communication with parents and caregivers to support student development.

Candidate Requirements
- Qualifications: Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
- Experience: Strong knowledge of ASD and SLD is essential. Previous experience in a primary setting is preferred.
- References: Candidates must provide satisfactory professional references covering their recent employment or training history.
- Vetting: Proven UK-based experience within the last 3 years is required for safeguarding compliance.
