Special Projects Manager (Sizewell C)

Job Responsibilities
- Manage assigned projects from initial brief through planning, delivery, testing, handover, and close-out.
- Define scope, deliverables, acceptance criteria, interfaces, and project plans with relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain programmes, milestones, risk and issue registers, actions, dependencies, and recovery plans.
- Coordinate surveys, design development, technical queries, and required reviews or approvals.
- Prepare clear scopes and support procurement, quotation, and tendering activity with Commercial and Procurement.
- Coordinate contractor mobilisation, access, permits, RAMS, logistics, and work sequencing.
- Monitor contractor safety, quality, progress, and performance and escalate shortfalls promptly.
- Control budgets, commitments, and change and provide accurate forecast and commercial information.
- Coordinate interfaces with Planning, Operations, Digital, Assurance, People, and Tier 2 partners.
- Plan testing, commissioning, readiness, and operational handover, closing documentation, and outstanding actions.
- Provide concise progress reporting, identifying decisions, risks, cost or schedule impacts, and lessons learned.

Qualifications
Essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at working and management levels.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and project-planning or reporting tools.
- CITB HS&E Managers and Professionals certificate (MAPS), or project-accepted equivalent.
- Ability to satisfy all Sizewell C security, vetting, and site access requirements.
- Relevant project-management, construction, engineering, or logistics qualification, or equivalent experience.
Desirable
- A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
- APM, PRINCE2, PMI, or another recognised project-management qualification.
- A working knowledge of:
- Major infrastructure, construction, or nuclear programme environments.
- CDM, contractor management, and permit-to-work interfaces.
- NEC contract environments, commercial governance, and change control.
- Logistics, warehouse, commissioning, and operational-readiness environments.

Experience
- Strong project-management experience delivering enabling works, infrastructure, or operational-improvement projects.
- Demonstrable experience managing projects from definition through delivery, handover, and close-out.
- Ability to maintain project programmes, risks, issues, dependencies, and clear progress reporting.
- Experience coordinating designers, contractors, suppliers, and operational stakeholders.
- Strong contractor-management capability covering mobilisation, performance, safety, and quality.
- Commercial awareness with experience controlling scope, budget, change, and supplier commitments.
- Ability to deliver safely within live operational environments without disrupting business-as-usual activity.
- Strong stakeholder-management, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Working knowledge of NEC contracts, CDM requirements, or major-project governance is desirable.
- Confident use of Microsoft Office and project-planning and reporting tools.
