The Role
As a Project Manager you will manage a portfolio of ‘Special Projects’ . These scopes will include the ‘cradle to grave’ project management of customer owned ‘High Voltage’ electrical networks consisting of UK wide Primary iDNO substations and/or associated Grid connections.
As a Project Manager you will be responsible for the collective performance of the projects within your charge which will be in terms of safety, technical, quality, contract, commercial & risk control. In addition to this, you will have suitable and sufficient, knowledge, training & experience to deliver a positive project outcome and, in doing so, with the support of the operations manager where necessary, manage risk & exposure associated with the project as far as reasonably practicable.
The work may be within the Midlands region however, may also be within the wider United Kingdom. You may also be called upon to assist Senior Project Managers when reasonably requested to do so.

Key Responsibilities
- Represent HVSS in a professional and articulate manner, at all times, to all stakeholders.
- Ensure that all Special Projects being managed are delivered in a safe and responsible manner.
- Manage Change & variations.
- Ability to proactively identify & manage Risk.
- Write internal HVSS project specific RAMS where necessary.
- Manage internal & external project resources such as suppliers and subcontractors as necessary.
- Support the site manager where necessary and applicable.
- Review, record and manage all sub-contract Risk assessment & Method statements (RAMS).
- Maintain & manage Site SHEQ documentation in line with HVSS policy.
- Comply with project specific Monthly SHEQ Tours.
- Undertake & record Projects specific Quarterly SHEQ tours with a Senior Project Manager.
- Maintain Project specific documentation in line with the company’s BMS.
- Maintain a Continual Professional development (CPD) strategy.
Experience & Qualities
Essential
- Proven reliable Team player.
- Management experience of managing project budgets & resources.
- Management experience of managing reasonably complex projects, budgets, direct, indirect & specialist resources from within M&E/Utility/T&D Technical Construction Environment.
- BTEC, >= NVQ Level 3 qualification in engineering. construction and/or management, &/or, equivalent knowledge, training and experience.
- Suitable experience of managing projects which would be classified as “notifiable” under the Construction, Design & Management Regulations 2015.
- IOSH Managing Safely, equal/equivalent would be desirable.
- Awareness of Control, Protection and Automation schemes.
- Experience in delivering construction projects under formal construction practices.
- High level of competence with MS Project, Word/Excel/Power point and possess suitable and sufficient cost & finance soft skills.
- SMSTS.
- TWS / TWC or working toward if requested to do so by the company.
- EUSR/CSCS/ECS/safety passport.

Desirable
- APM/ PMI/ Prince project management certification, or equal equivalent, or working toward.
- Knowledge / Understanding of DNO / iDNO specifications & working practices.
- JCT / NEC contracts.
- Experience in Projects that fall within the classification of “notifiable” under the Construction, Design & Management Regulations 2015.
- Exposure to AutoCAD.

- Full Time, Permanent role
- Monday - Friday 8:30am - 17:00pm (40 hours per week)
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays as standard
