Specialist AAC Speech and Language Therapist
Part-time or full-time | Permanent position
This is an opportunity to combine specialist clinical practice with training, consultancy and service development. You will support children and adults with complex communication needs through individualised assessment, ongoing therapy, coaching and collaboration.
We believe great AAC provision goes beyond selecting a communication system. It involves developing skills, empowering communication partners and creating environments where people can communicate, connect and participate in everyday life.
If you are enthusiastic about AAC, enjoy sharing your knowledge and want to make a meaningful difference, we would love to hear from you.
About Connect with AAC Ltd
Connect with AAC Ltd provides specialist Speech and Language Therapy (SLT), AAC assessment and intervention for individuals with complex communication needs.
Our work spans medico-legal rehabilitation, Local Authority contracts for Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) provision, direct work with families, and consultancy with schools, day centres and other organisations.
We provide assessment and longer-term therapy, often over at least a year, enabling therapists to build relationships, develop communication skills and make a lasting difference.
Our expertise includes Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), assistive technology and alternative access methods. We support people at different stages of their communication journey, from early cause-and-effect skills and intentional communication to confident AAC use, social communication and literacy development.
We work with individuals with a wide range of needs, including cerebral palsy, brain injury, learning disabilities, autism, Down syndrome, motor neurone disease (MND), dementia, stroke, sensory impairments and profound and multiple learning disabilities.
We are building Connect with AAC into a sustainable, social-impact business. Growth enables us to extend our clinical impact and share AAC knowledge more widely, making information, resources and learning opportunities accessible free of charge or at minimal cost wherever possible.
You will have opportunities to contribute to community AAC play days, accessible training, resources, collaborative projects and potential research, helping improve AAC access and communication inclusion.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
