Company Description

Haven Respite Ltd is a registered social enterprise based in Nottinghamshire, providing bespoke, in-home respite care and companionship for children and adults with additional needs and their families. We exist for one reason: to give unpaid carers a genuine, high-quality break and to do it with warmth, consistency, and professionalism that families can truly rely on.

We are building a small, carefully selected pool of specialist bank support workers to deliver our private care services across Nottinghamshire. This is not a standard support worker role. Our clients are private families who have chosen Haven Respite because they expect something better — and we need people who are proud to deliver it.

Role Description

As a Haven Respite Bank Support Worker, you will be matched to clients based on your skills, experience, and personality. You will work flexibly across a variety of session types: daytime flexible (could be 3- or 8-hour shifts), evening, overnight (22.00 - 07.00), and live-in, providing tailored, person-centred support in the client's own home.

Every placement is underpinned by a full care plan, individual risk assessment, and bespoke service agreement. You will never walk into a client's home without knowing exactly who you are supporting and what matters to them.

Your work will include:

  • Providing companionship, emotional support, and meaningful engagement
  • Meal preparation and assistance with eating and drinking
  • Medication prompting and accurate recording
  • Supporting clients with activities, outings, and community access
  • Light household assistance
  • Accurate, timely completion of all visit records and observation logs
  • Communicating professionally with families following every visit

Who We Are Looking For

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We are selective. We are looking for individuals who bring both the skills and the character to represent Haven Respite with families who have placed a great deal of trust in us.

You will need:

  • A genuine passion for supporting people and making a real difference to carers and their families
  • Previous experience in a care, support, or health setting (essential for bank pool positions)
  • Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, complex needs, dementia, or acquired brain injury — one or more of these areas
  • The ability to work independently, use sound judgement, and remain calm under pressure
  • Strong communication skills — written and verbal — including the ability to complete care records accurately and professionally
  • Confidence using digital systems and apps for recording and reporting
  • A flexible and reliable approach to bank working — we need people who commit to sessions they accept
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential — our clients are in their own homes across Nottinghamshire)

You will also need to be comfortable with:

  • Working alone in a client's home environment
  • Lone working protocols and risk management
  • Overnight and live-in sessions (not compulsory for all workers but desirable)
