Join Our Pathology Team in Dorset

This is an exciting time to join the pathology team in Dorset. We are currently making great progress with our vision to create a first class integrated pathology service for Dorset.

About the 'One Dorset Pathology' Service

The 'One Dorset Pathology' service comprising of Dorset County Hospital, Poole Hospital and The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals will provide clinicians, patients and carers with a consistent and high standard of service across the area and maximise efficiency in the use of resources.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join our friendly Blood Sciences team at Dorset County Hospital. The hospital is located in the county town of Dorchester which is eight miles from the Jurassic coastline and award winning beach.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Biomedical Scientist with a specialist qualification in Biochemistry
  • Encouragement of professional development
  • Consideration for current band 5 candidates who are pursuing further study and could be employed at annex 21

Department Highlights

  • IBMS training approval
  • UKAS ISO15189:2022 accreditation
  • Participation in the 24/7 shift system with additional payment at agenda for change pay rates

  • The successful applicant will have specialist experience in Haematology & Transfusion. After appropriate training, you will be expected to become integrated as a full member of the busy department working flexibly within an average of 37.5 hours per week.
