We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Specialist, Business Technology Liaison to join our Wealth Services Operations Transfers Team. This role is located in Manchester, UK.
BNY’s Wealth Services platform powers the end-to-end infrastructure that helps wealth managers, advisers and institutions deliver trading, custody, clearing, investment servicing and wealth administration at scale.
How you’ll make an impact
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Works as an RPA UiPath Developer responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting automation solutions across Wealth Services Operations.
- Works closely with Business SMEs, Operations teams, and Technology partners to understand business requirements and deliver automation solutions aligned to operational needs.
- Provides technical support in identifying, evaluating, and developing automation solutions that are efficient, controlled, reusable, and aligned to business requirements.
- Supports operations with an automation-first approach to identify process improvement opportunities and reduce manual effort.
- Delivers meaningful change for the operation by building UiPath automations, digital tools, API-enabled solutions, and AI-enabled automation capabilities.
- Ensures automation solutions are reliable, secure, well-documented, and suitable for production use by business users.
- Supports the platform group with process assessment, solution design, development, testing, and production readiness activities.

In this role, you’ll oversee the below tasks:
Delivery
- Collaborate with Business SMEs, Operations users, and Technology partners to understand business needs, assess automation feasibility, and deliver scalable UiPath automation solutions.
- Plan, prioritize and deliver assigned automation work items in line with agreed timelines, business priorities, quality standards, and production readiness requirements.
Requirements / Stories
- Gather, analyze and convert business requirements into clear process documentation, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and technical design inputs.
- Validate requirements with cross-functional stakeholders to identify process gaps, control risks, dependencies, exception scenarios, and opportunities for process improvement.
Development / Technical Implementation
- Design and develop automation workflows using UiPath Studio, reusable components, UiPath Orchestrator capabilities, and structured exception handling.
- Build automation solutions across Excel, Outlook, web applications, desktop applications, SharePoint, APIs, PDFs, and internal business systems, including AI-enabled automation opportunities where applicable.
Testing / Implementation
- Perform unit testing, support system testing and user acceptance testing, and review test results to ensure outcomes meet the defined acceptance criteria.
- Analyze testing failures to identify defects, missed requirements, process gaps, or additional exception scenarios before production implementation.
Production / Operational Readiness
- Support production deployment, release readiness, run books, support documentation, and handover activities.
- Monitor production automations, troubleshoot failures using logs and exception reports, and support defect fixes, enhancements, and change requests.
Process Improvement / AI Enablement
- Partner with Operations teams to identify opportunities for process simplification, risk reduction, efficiency improvement, and automation expansion.
- Support the use of AI capabilities such as document understanding, intelligent extraction, AI-assisted development, and agentic automation solutions to improve business outcomes.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Technical skills:
- UiPath, VB/C#.net/Python
- Experience in API, SQL, building Attended and unattended Automations.
- Demonstrable AI expertise and additional tools like Power Automate, Alteryx, Power BI is an advantage.
Desired - business acumen / knowledge of:
- Wealth product knowledge
- Wealth Management, Wealth Services and Transfers of ISAs and other EMEA investment wrappers
Research skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Stakeholder management: Should have strong experience in managing senior stakeholders as part of Projects.
- Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
