Opportunity to be part of the paediatric team at Wexham Park Hospital as a Trust Doctor ST4 equivalent
Successful candidate will work across the paediatric and neonatal teams.
This post is for 12 months, two posts are available.
ST4 trainees work a full shift rota, covering daytime duties and out-of-hours shifts across both general paediatrics and neonatal services.
We are seeking an enthusiastic middle grade Doctor who has started their training in Paediatrics and is keen to progress their training within the existing team in a modern hospital with a well-equipped children's department and local neonatal unit (level 2).
While this post does not carry formal training recognition, it does provide an opportunity to care for a tremendously varied group of patients in a large paediatric department in a busy District General Hospital. This post holder would join a team of Consultants, Specialty Doctors, middle grade and resident Doctors.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
