NHS Fife Clinical Pharmacist Opportunity
NHS Fife has an opportunity for an enthusiastic clinical pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care to patients across our Substance Use service.
About the Role
We are looking to support the development of an exceptional candidate by providing opportunities to develop and build on clinical knowledge, service development skills, and gain expertise in Substance Use. You will support the development of pharmacy services and pharmaceutical care within Substance Use services, including the delivery of Independent Prescribing clinics.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients in Substance Use services.
- Deliver Independent Prescribing clinics.
- Ensure the safe, effective, and economic use of medicines across care boundaries.
- Contribute to high-quality patient care by collaborating with colleagues across the Addiction Service.
- Participate in education and training of other professionals.
- Facilitate the implementation of local and national guidelines.
- Engage in local multidisciplinary patient safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Registered pharmacist with a background in hospital, primary care, or community pharmacy.
- Experience of working in more than one of these areas is advantageous.
- A relevant post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience is desirable.
- An independent prescribing qualification is essential.
- Sound clinical knowledge and a commitment to high standards of pharmaceutical care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Environment
- You will be working within a highly integrated Pharmacy and Medicines Service.

Location
- You are likely to be based within one geographical locality, although applicants should be flexible and willing to have occasional travel throughout Fife.

- Serves a population of approximately 380,000 people.
- Provided by an integrated team of around 300 Pharmacy staff.
- Works across Hospital Sites, General Practices, Mental Health services, and a range of specialist teams.
