Applications are invited for a Band 6 Specialist Community Physiotherapist, 36 hours, based at the Royal Northern Infirmary, Inverness.
This is a wonderful opportunity for those experienced Band 5's looking to develop at a senior level or for those already working as a band 6 looking to increase their community experience. Please note that internal and external applicants are welcome.
Role Description
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within an established and extremely experienced team of Physiotherapists. There is a wealth of skills and knowledge within the Physiotherapy team - this is a great chance to learn and advance your skills. The physiotherapy team forms part of a larger multi-disciplinary team based at the RNI - the Integrated Community Team, where we work together with other professionals, such as OTs, Social workers, and Community Nurses.
Furthermore, at the RNI, the Community Physiotherapy team provide rehabilitation to those patients on Ward 1. There is an expectation that this post would cover rehab as and when required on Ward 1.
You will take responsibility for a community clinical caseload incorporating patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge from care. We cover a breadth of patient conditions including Neurological, Orthopaedic, Elderly rehabilitation and Falls. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure co-ordinated care for patients.

You will be expected to act independently to provide a full comprehensive specialist service of assessment, diagnosis, treatment/appropriate management, onward referral, and discharge to a complex range of patients referred to the service.
You will attend MDT meetings, supervise Junior Physiotherapists, Assistant Practitioners, and Physiotherapy students, and be expected to deputise for the team lead in meetings related to specialist clinical area. Regular supervision is in place, as well as peer supervision.
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations and patient residents, so a full current driving license is essential.
