Specialist Community Public Health Nurse in Health Visiting

Role Overview

A Specialist Community Public Health Nurse in Health Visiting is required to provide strong clinical care and leadership within an integrated skill mixed team as part of the 0-19 Universal Health Service in Blackburn with Darwen.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on the delivery of the Health Child Programme 0-5 years and defined local requirements based on the provider contract.
  • Provide family-centered, evidence-based public health service that aims to proactively improve health outcomes for a defined caseload, population, or community.
  • Reduce the risks and impact of health inequalities by working in partnership with families, communities, and other professionals.
  • Deliver the model of health visiting at a community, universal, targeted, and specialist level.
  • Ensure safeguarding is embedded within the model, considering safe and effective management of risk for children, young people, and families.

Job Details

  • More than 1 position is available.
  • Full-time and part-time positions are available.
  • Working hours are Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm.

Key Requirements

  • Presents a positive image of the service when meeting service users and partners.
  • Demonstrates advanced communication skills to:
    • Deal with and diffuse complex and volatile situations.
    • Participate in the decision-making process of complex issues which may be emotive with differing professional opinions in a multi-agency arena.
  • Presents complex issues in a professional manner either verbally or in a written format, e.g., case conferences, reports, and court statements where highly emotive and contentious situations may arise.
