About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and highly motivated team whilst undertaking a variety of Dental Nursing duties within the Day Surgery Unit, General Theatres, Dental Radiography and Outpatient Departments.

You will be providing chair side, and first support assistance to the respective consultants in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontic and Restorative Dentistry.

Ensuring that the best possible Dental Nursing Care is delivered to patients including those with complex medical, physical and emotional needs and to manage outpatient clinics and day surgery/ general theatre lists on a day to day basis.

If you don't have a postgraduate dental radiography qualification, don't worry – you're still welcome to apply for this role as a band 4 development opportunity. You'll receive support and training to help you gain the necessary competencies in line with GDC professional registering body and combined job description & person specification, with the opportunity to progress to band 5 once you're qualified.

Requirements

Applicants must hold the National Certificate of Dental Nursing (or equivalent), a Dental Radiography Qualification and have current registration with the General Dental Council. The hours are variable to be worked flexibly to meet the demands of the service.

The successful applicant must be enthusiastic, have previous hospital experience, and be committed to providing high level patient care. You will be self-motivated in order to organise your clinics efficiently on a daily basis and possess good clinical and communication skills
