The Holistic Psychiatry Clinic is looking for an experienced Independent Prescriber / Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) to join our clinical team as a part-time, remote associate.
The role will primarily involve supporting existing clinic patients who are reducing or tapering psychiatric medication as part of a psychiatrist-led treatment plan.
Deprescribing can be a complex and highly individual process. We are looking for a practitioner who can provide careful ongoing monitoring and continuity of care, recognise potential withdrawal effects or clinical deterioration, and work collaboratively with our psychiatrists throughout a patient's treatment.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct follow-up consultations with existing clinic patients
- Support patients undertaking psychiatric medication tapering and withdrawal
- Monitor patient progress, response to medication changes and potential withdrawal effects
- Prescribe and adjust medication within agreed clinical pathways and your professional scope of competence
- Maintain clear and appropriate clinical documentation
- Recognise when clinical discussion or escalation to the supervising psychiatrist is required
- Work collaboratively with our psychiatrists and wider clinical team

Essential experience
- Qualified Independent Prescriber / Non-Medical Prescriber
- At least 2 years' post-qualification prescribing experience
- Strong professional background in mental health
- Experience prescribing and managing psychiatric medication
- Experience with medication titration, dose reduction and tapering
- Confidence recognising and responding appropriately to potential withdrawal symptoms and clinical deterioration
- A careful, thoughtful and patient-centred approach to prescribing
Desirable
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) background
- Particular professional interest or experience in psychiatric medication deprescribing
