Band 7 Dietitian - Obesity and Bariatric Surgery Dietetic Team
We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Band 7 Dietitian with good team-working skills to join our obesity and bariatric surgery Dietetic team at King’s College Hospital, Denmark Hill. This new part-time position (24 hours per week) has been established to support the implementation and delivery of a new GLP-1 weight management service. The role is offered on a fixed-term basis until March 2029.
Role Overview
The successful applicant will have significant clinical experience working with people living with obesity including diet and lifestyle management, GLP-1 therapies, and an understanding of bariatric surgery. A strong awareness of weight bias and stigma, and their impact on healthcare experiences and outcomes, is essential.
Working alongside 2.5 specialist obesity and bariatric surgery dietitians, the post holder will develop and deliver a service supporting patients living with obesity and complex conditions who are prescribed GLP-1 analogue medications. They will also contribute to the dietetic care of people under the bariatric surgery pathway. The Dietitians are key members of our multidisciplinary bariatric surgery and obesity team, consisting of Obesity Physicians, Bariatric Surgeons, Physiotherapists, Psychiatrists, and specialist nurses.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a service supporting patients on GLP-1 analogue medications.
- Contribute to the dietetic care of people under the bariatric surgery pathway.
- Support patients on a 1:1 basis in clinics, both face-to-face and virtual, and in groups.
Work Environment
Your work base will be at the Denmark Hill site of King’s College Hospital. The post will work with uni- and multidisciplinary colleagues to establish and deliver a new GLP-1 weight management service. The post will also contribute to the dietetic care of people under the bariatric surgery pathway.
Departmental Expectations
Our large dietetics department expects all staff to be involved in project work, audit and research, and teaching of other healthcare professionals in line with our mission to provide excellence in clinical care, research, and teaching within King’s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre. We also undertake student training and the post holders would be expected to play an active role in student supervision.
