We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed Specialist Doctor to complement and enhance our experienced, ambitious, and friendly team of 9 NHS Consultant Gastroenterologists.
About the Role
This is a full-time substantive position (up to 10PA including on-call GI bleed supplement) for a Specialist in Gastroenterology with a particular interest in patients with inflammatory bowel disease based at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust.
Responsibilities
- The post holder will be actively encouraged and given the opportunity to develop subspecialty interests to complement those of the current team.
- Candidates who wish to work a different/fewer number of programmed activities will be considered for this post, with negotiation on the content of the job plan on an individual basis, but a commitment to a full slot on the on-call Rota GI bleed is required.
- The post holder will be expected to work as a key member of the Gastroenterology department. The successful applicant will be expected to run an integrated outpatient Gastroenterology service with the existing consultants and the IBD CNS teams.
- The post is required to re-capture and maintain 18-week and USC pathway performance targets in Gastroenterology as part of our elective recovery plans, as well as supporting the GI bleed service, elective outpatient endoscopy, and 7-day working at the Trust.
- The post holder will be actively encouraged to develop teaching and academic links with the University of Surrey.
