Job Description
The Master Data Specialist will play an important role in supporting McLaren Racing’s finance transformation by helping to create trusted, accurate and well-governed master data for our finance systems.
Working across Finance and connected business teams, you will support the cleansing, governance and population of master data, ensuring it is aligned to the Financial Data Model, ERP design and reporting requirements. This role is key to enabling a scalable, auditable and reliable finance platform for the future.
What You'll Do
- Help define and govern Finance master data standards across customers, suppliers, chart of accounts, financial dimensions, ownership models, naming conventions, and data policies aligned to ERP design.
- Lead data migration activities including data extraction, profiling, cleansing, transformation, reconciliation, validation, and preparation of migration-ready datasets for ERP implementation.
- Establish robust data controls and documentation by maintaining mapping rules, transformation logic, audit trails, validation evidence, issue logs, and ensuring all ETL activities are traceable and compliant.
- Ensure alignment between data, ERP design, and business processes by partnering with Finance, Data Engineering, and Solution Architecture teams to support the financial data model, reporting requirements, and system-of-record definitions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
